Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Make The Pick handles information when you use the site. Make The Pick does not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for profile information to vote.

1. Information We Collect

  • Anonymous voting activity, such as which comparison was viewed and which option was selected.
  • Limited technical information collected automatically, such as browser and device information, IP-related technical information, timestamps, and basic usage information needed to operate, secure, and understand the service.
  • Analytics information, when analytics services are enabled.

2. Local Storage and Similar Technologies

We may use your browser's local storage or similar technologies to keep the site working and to help prevent duplicate voting, for example by remembering which comparisons you have already voted on. These measures help reduce duplicate votes but cannot prevent them perfectly.

3. How Information Is Used

We may use information to:

  • Operate and maintain Make The Pick.
  • Record votes and calculate voting results.
  • Generate aggregated community preferences and rankings.
  • Help detect abuse or voting manipulation.
  • Understand site usage and performance.
  • Improve comparisons, features, and the overall user experience.

4. Public and Aggregated Voting Results

Individual votes contribute to aggregated community results. Aggregated voting percentages, vote totals, rankings, trends, and other community preference information may be displayed publicly. These results are shown in combined form and are not intended to identify individual voters.

5. Sharing and Third-Party Services

Third-party service providers that help us host, operate, secure, or analyze the website may process limited information as necessary to provide those services.

Make The Pick does not currently sell users' personal information.

6. Data Retention

Voting records may be retained to maintain historical voting results, trends, and rankings. Technical, security, log, and analytics information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, analyze, and improve the service, subject to applicable requirements.

7. Children's Privacy

Make The Pick is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please reach out through the Make The Pick Contact page.
